The Moon and the Deep Blue Sea

I heard a story about a love
between the moon and the deep blue sea
It reminded me a lot
of the story of you and me

It was a story about storms
and gentle calms.

It told of a special love.
The moon glowed brighter
and the sea ran deeper.

Love's crystal clarity showed
in the form of moon's reflections
Waves polished the love
in the depths of the deep blue sea

Nothing came between these two -
the moon and the sparkling sea
when you looked at its deep blue surface
you could see eternity

Nights were interrupted by days
as life so often does
but the sea could always feel loves pull
from the moon hidden just above

Patiently they'd wait and watch
sunlight’s quiet tiptoe across the surface.
The
day would finally draw to a close -
the fading blossom of red sunlight
a heaven-sent gift to them - a rose

Night-cloaked in solitude
the moon would kiss the sea
it reminded me yet again
of the story of you and me

Dancing shimmers on the surface
created a blanket of their love
they would embrace for what seemed always
beneath the waves rolling high above

a love so pure and eternal
sang like chimes to the clouds above
raindrops fell and thunder cheered
in testimony to their love

To a celestial chorus of stars up high
lightning flashed and told a story
of two hearts - the moon, and the deep blue sea
and their love in all its glory

I heard a story about a love
between the moon and the deep blue sea
...it reminded me a lot
of the story of you and me
