Some lessons only need to be learned once. Here’s the running list.

- Little t = teaspoon, big T = tablespoon — BIG difference when baking.
- Salsa and babies – don’t mix the two.
- You only need a little horseradish.
- Semi-sweet cooking chocolate is not a good substitute on S’More’s for real chocolate.
- Just smile and nod – at some point they’ll get hungry and leave.
- You don’t always have to stay within the lines.
- Water resistant does not mean waterproof, no matter how much you paid for it.
- Hawaiian fruit punch stains.
- Ketchup stains.
- Ummm, coffee stains, mustard stains, perhaps this is too long a subject matter to try to dwell upon…
- If you drop your fountain pen while wearing light gray dress slacks, don’t try to catch it. You may be successful at stopping the pen body itself, but you will not be successful at stopping the momentum of the ink contained within the pen body.
- Don’t give the dog chocolate pudding, even if there’s only a little left in the bowl.
- There is no greater feeling then getting our calling card to work at an airport. Well, at least not dressed.
- Some friends aren’t.
- The world revolves around titles. I am not my title.
- The older I get, the more stuff means less to me.
Life ain’t about how fast you run, or how high you climb, but how well you bounce.
